Message from the PTA President

Dear Golbow Community:

It's that time of year again to consider taking a position on your PTA Executive Board. Our Nominating Committee is looking for recruits! Your school's PTA is a valuable resource to the school, students, and community. Some of the things your PTA has provided for your school has been, Donuts With Dad, Muffins for Mom, Walk to School Day (Where H.E.B. Buddy made a special guest appearance), School Spirit Nights (Thank you Spring Creek BBQ, Chick Fil A, Cici's, and Chuck E Cheese for your support!), Free Family Movie Nights, Field Day Shirt Orders, Membership Card Discounts through Texas PTA Website, Funding for the Fifth Grade Party (such a special and fun time for our fifth graders), Teacher Appreciation Days, and Programs. These are just a few things your PTA has provided this past year. Your PTA has also provided funds for curriculum and playground equipment over the past years. Without a healthy PTA with lots of hands then these programs etc. cannot be provided. The need for volunteers in the Golbow PTA is a big priority. There are plenty of excuses not to be involved but there are plenty more that make it the right thing to do to be involved. There is a summer seminar that our PTA has a budget line for to help with expenses with so that anyone on the Executive Board can get their proper training for any position that they take. The PTA has plenty of resources available to answer questions you may have including a great network of other local PTA's. It is very important to recognize that not every school or volunteer organization is the same so comparing one to another is like comparing apples to oranges. The best thing to focus on is what You can Do for Your Organization and How Can you Help make it Stronger, Inclusive, and Positive. If you have any questions about any positions on the Executive Board of your PTA please ask me or take advantage of the Texas PTA Website and explore the resources on there to get a general idea of what those positions consist of.
